About our runs, guidelines and equipment

Our runs may include:

  • Technical trails
  • Single tracks
  • Steep downhills and uphills

We meet at various places in the Dandenong Ranges  and occasionally at other trails close to Melbourne – click on the Facebook link to our site for details.

Our Weekly runs are always on Thursdays and Sundays and occasionally other days such as public holidays

About our runs

Each run is carefully planned, with details posted on Facebook and Instagram a few days prior.
We cater to all levels of fitness and running experience, ensuring that everyone has an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Dandenongs while staying fit with friends.

All our runs start together and we split into groups normally after 3-4 km.

The times below are estimates and will vary depending on the course, difficulty and weather.

Yes – Most groups walk or run slowly up steep hills

Sunday Runs - 7:00 am start

Stylish 20km - 3:20 hrs to 3:40 hrs
  • Easy paced group
  • With a few stops to regroup as required.
  • Typically 700 – 1,000m of vert
  • Equivalent to a sub 2hr 15min flat half road marathon
Semi-Sweaty 20km - 3 hrs to 3:20 hrs
  • Traditional paced group
  • Run at a decent pace with a few stops to regroup as required
  • Typically 700 – 1,000m of vert
  • Equivalent to a sub 2hr flat half road marathon
Sweaty 20km - 2:40 hrs to 3:00 hrs
  • Faster group
  • Run at a fast pace with as few stops as possible to allow regrouping
  • Typically 700 – 1,000m of vert
  • Equivalent to a sub 1hr 50min flat half road marathon
Super Sweaty 20km - 2:20 hrs to 2:30 hrs
  • Fastest group
  • Available when required
  • Almost non-stop going as fast as the group can manage collectively
  • Typically 700 – 1,000m of vert
  • Runners after a top 10 finish
Sensible 14km - 2:20 hrs to 2:40 hrs
  • Easy paced group
  • Typically move at a steady pace with a few stops to regroup
  • Typically 400 – 700m of vert
  • Stylish pace for 14km
Sane 8km - 1:30 hrs to 1:50 hrs
  • Easy paced intro group
  • Run at a sensible pace with a few stops
  • Typically 250 – 350m of vert

Thursday Runs 9:10 am start

  • Easy paced group
  • Run at a sensible pace with tips and help along the way, fun and social friendly way to build your fitness
  • Typically 350 – 600m vert

Suggested equipment - what to bring

What to bring is often a personal preference and will depend on the distance you are running.

We recommend that all runners have:

  • Water, if doing more than 8k then at least 1 ltr and more if it is hot – most runners will have a belt or running pack with water bottles
  • Mobile phone with the course map
  • Sunscreen, during summer or when it will be high UV
  • Trail running shoes are highly recommended, especially when it is wet
  • Hydration pack – to carry that water and other equipment
  • Food/snacks during the run
  • Personal first aid kit
